Shred free space : Shred free disk space
Why you should shred free space
Did you delete sensitive files without using Delete Files Permanently? Use 'Wipe Free Space' to shred previously 'deleted' files and prevent these files from being recovered.
If you delete files using 'Delete' button or Del+Shift and even empty Recycle Bin, it doesn't really delete files from your hard disk, removable disks, USB-flash drives, memory sticks, flash memory cards, picture cards, etc. Unfortunately this operation just removes the reference to the file but file still exists. That means that the information is still stored and it is possible to recover that information. To protect your privacy you should regularly shred free space (shred disk free space) to ensure that previously 'deleted' files cannot be recovered.
Delete Files Permanently (free space shredder) enables you to shred free space on a selected hard drive, thereby overwriting any previously deleted files, making recovery difficult or impossible.
